History
Good News Corps was founded in 2002 by IYFEF (International Youth Fellowship Educational Foundation). Individuals from various fields of expertise with a Christian mindset came together to form an organization designed solely for the development of young people and to minister to the needs of youths around the world. This organization officially became recognized as the International Youth Fellowship in 2001. Since its establishment as a nonprofit organization, IYF has become world renowned for programs like World Camp, Global Camp, and most recently, Good News Corps.
The first class of Good News Corps volunteers consisted of fourteen individuals. Since then, some 1,625 young adults have devoted one year of their lives to serve abroad. In 2007 alone, there were 656 volunteers serving 70 different countries around the world. Although initiated in South Korea, Good News Corps now spans the globe with volunteers being dispatched from countries in Africa, Europe, North and South America, and Asia. Good News Corps is especially excited to announce that 2008 is the inaugural dispatch of volunteers from the United States.
