What is Good News Corps?

Good News Corps is the life of living for others. From the moment they enter their host countries, volunteers are greeted with unexpected warmth and acceptance. It’s enough to melt the hardest of hearts. Through a combination of guidance by Good News Corps branch managers, as well as projects and a regular daily schedule, it’s not long before volunteers come to live the lifestyle and become engrossed in the benefits of giving rather than just receiving.

Change

Good News Corps is a heart-changing experience. Students who once lived only for themselves change from within. Our proven training program not only provides volunteers with the skills and knowledge necessary for the work that lies ahead, but also addresses the issues of the heart and mind which cause despair and sadness. Good News Corps volunteers are transformed into people who overcome challenges and sacrifice themselves for others. Good News Corps provides an authentic opportunity to help others through diverse programs in an actual environment deeply in need of help, love, and hope.

Overcoming Limitations

Everyone suffers from some manner of limitation, whether it’s physical or mental, educational or linguistic. Our limitations often go unnoticed, but when we are confronted with them, they may seem insurmountable and hinder us from realizing our true potential. Living inside our limitations, we become accustomed to avoiding challenges. Good News Corps places volunteers in the midst of challenge. Through educational activities like teaching English to native students, our volunteers realize the limits of their knowledge. In order to teach however, they find that they themselves must learn. Through such challenges, volunteers attain a higher level of thought and understanding and thus find that limitations are merely opportunities to accomplish greater things. This precious lesson which strengthens the heart not only changes their lives, but becomes a beacon of hope for others who are victims of their own limitations. Having overcome these kind of situations, they become examples to others and leaders of the next generation.
